A program geared towards giving youth in community the tools and confidence needed to become a successful youth community organizer. Kit's Kloset takes the position that leadership is a skillset to be learned, not a position to be held.
Kit's Kloset Community Captains Program is designed to get youth routed in community organizing with age appropriate initiatives. Our Captains choose what 501c3 Nonprofit they would like to work with. Whether it's poverty/homeless outreach, an animal rescue, LGBTQ+ rights, cleaning up the Schuylkill river or one of the many other area causes, we can help establish the community relationships and outline the support needed to be successful with your given community organizing project.
That's ok! We can help you come up with one!
There are benefits to becoming a Kit's Kloset Community Captain. You will be taking your first steps to becoming a community organizer and champion! To honor that hard work, Kit's Kloset will provide you with a community champion profile at kitskloset.org that college admissions will have access to. We will also provide any Community Captain a letter of success that outlines your commitment to your project.
Our Community Captains run their initiatives, but a little parent involvement makes for a successful outcome. Just like youth sports, positive reinforcement and coaching makes all the difference!
